Bear attack leaves farmer injured in Kankumbi forest

A 25-year-old farmer from Hund village, Belagavi district, was seriously injured after a bear attacked him in the Kanakumbi forest area on Wednesday evening. Mahesh Babu Gavade was returning home from farm work when the animal emerged from the forest. He suffered injuries to his hands and legs and was admitted to hospital. Forest officials have launched an inquiry and urged residents to remain cautious.
