MARGAO

Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, Leader of Opposition and Chairperson of the Congress Campaign Committee, Yuri Alemao on Saturday announced "Goem Rakhon Yatra" covering all 40 constituencies to mobilise Goans against the BJP.

While addressing the district and block office-bearers of South Goa and Kushavati district, Alemao said the sins of the BJP against Goa and Goans are unpardonable.

He also announced the concept of "Congressicho Maand", a platform for Congress karyakartas, leaders, sympathisers and social activists to interact and debate in every constituency.

Saying the interactions at the Maand will provide inputs for the party manifesto, Yuri said, "We will go to the people and interact with them to know their difficulties and sufferings. Once Congress party comes to power, we will resolve these issues. We will stop the destruction of Goa," he said.

The Opposition leader further handed out a promise that the Congress government will scrap 39-A and other sections which are used as a tool to destroy Goa.

"Congress has always worked in the interest of people. We even scrapped projects which were opposed by people. But BJP government is imposing unwanted projects on people. Voice of people is stifled by the BJP government," he said.

Working Presidents M K Shaikh, MLA Altone D’Costa, South Goa District President Assiz Noronha, Kushavati President Rajesh Verenkar and others were present.
